Service Manager, Project Management (Manufacturing)


Our client, Velan, is a global leader in industrial valve solutions, renowned for the quality of its products, the complexity of its projects, and the expertise of its teams. They are seeking a Service Manager, Project Management (Manufacturing) to lead the teams responsible for customer service and order management in a high‑variability manufacturing environment (high mix / low volume).

This role blends team leadership, operational execution, customer discipline, and daily coordination with engineering, production, and logistics teams. It is an ideal position for a pragmatic manager who is close to operations and motivated by continuous improvement in customer performance.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and engage a team of 6 employees (customer service, coordination, and project management).
  • Develop skills, review performance, and foster a culture of accountability.
  • Ensure proactive and structured communication with customers and internal stakeholders.

Operational Execution

  • Manage the full order lifecycle: review, follow‑up, prioritization, issue resolution.
  • Monitor performance (OTD, delays, escalations) and implement corrective actions.
  • Strengthen communication discipline with customers and internal teams.
  • Coordinate activities with engineering, production, and logistics.

Continuous Improvement

  • Optimize order management and communication processes.
  • Participate in improvement projects in collaboration with operations.
  • Contribute to the evolution of tools, practices, and service KPIs.

Profile Sought

  • 10 years of experience in an industrial environment (manufacturing, distribution, or OEM high mix/low volume).
  • Strong operational experience in customer service, inside sales, order management, or customer operations.
  • Experience managing small to medium‑sized teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, resolve issues, and support a team in a demanding environment.
  • Structured, customer‑oriented approach with strong communication discipline.
  • Skills in continuous improvement (Lean, processes, optimization).
