As part of an ambitious operational transformation, our client is seeking a Director of Production (Manufacturing) for its Saint‑Laurent plant. This strategic role represents a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of a manufacturing site toward the highest standards of performance.
Your Role
Reporting to the Senior Vice President & General Manager, North America, you will be responsible for all production operations, including health and safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and customer satisfaction. You will act as a mobilizing leader and a change agent, working closely with internal teams and other Velan entities, combining hands‑on operational leadership with a long‑term vision for manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards;
- Drive operational performance and LEAN initiatives;
- Optimize resources, equipment, and production processes;
- Foster effective collaboration among internal functions;
- Develop and engage team talent;
- Maintain a positive and harmonious work climate with both unionized and non‑unionized employees.
Profile Sought
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in a management role;
- Strong knowledge of ERP and MRP systems, as well as continuous improvement tools;
- Mobilizing leadership style, strategic mindset, and excellent interpersonal skills;
- Eligibility for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP);
- Bilingualism (French and English), both written and spoken.
