Deputy Director of Production, Water Treatment

Permanent position, 40 hours/week, annual salary

Our client is an engineering firm that has built a solid reputation in the mining, industrial, and municipal sectors, particularly for its ability to deliver turnkey solutions. They are seeking an Deputy Director of Production, Water Treatment to support their growing operations department at their water treatment center of excellence.

Your Role

The Assistant Production Manager, Water Treatment will be responsible for supporting their team in the day-to-day manufacturing and assembly operations of water treatment plants and/or products. She will also be involved in special projects and support management members in implementing the organizational strategy.

Duties Associated with the Role

• Collaborate in the implementation of the center of excellence’s strategic plan;
• Develop and monitor the department’s budget to ensure compliance;
• Ensure sound human resources management within her team;
• Ensure the application of occupational health and safety standards and procedures;
• Support her team in project execution to ensure quality and timeliness;
• Oversee the implementation of projects and maintain processes related to the department’s continuous improvement;
• Manage expectations and ensure excellent customer service for internal and external clients;
• Oversee the material procurement process;
• Participate in the development of the inventory management system and oversee its implementation.

The Desired Profile

• College or university education in a relevant field (production management, engineering, administration);
• Significant experience of at least 5 years in production team management;
• Bilingualism (French and English): oral and written.

Additional Skills

• Advanced knowledge of assembly line operations;
• Knowledge of the issues surrounding structural assembly activities as well as the installation and programming of electrical equipment;
• Proficiency in project management concepts: schedule monitoring, budget, quality, and amendment management;
• Mastery of the stages of the project financial cycle, from revenue projections to accounts receivable monitoring;
• Basic knowledge of industrial water treatment.
