Vice President of Human Resources Position Overview:
The Vice President of Human Resources in Montreal will be responsible for designing and implementing HR initiatives aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. This key role involves expertise in organizational development, talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, legal compliance and skills development, with a particular focus on the needs of the construction sector.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an HR strategy aligned with the company’s vision and growth ambitions.
- Define performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
- Lead organizational development initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement, increase employee engagement and support the company’s strategy.
- Oversee recruitment and talent management to attract and retain the best profiles, both for corporate and field positions.
- Design and manage programs to strengthen employee engagement and retention.
- Implement performance management processes, including assessment, training and professional coaching.
- Ensure compliance with labor law, health and safety regulations.
- Develop training and leadership initiatives to promote team skills development.
- Collaborate with management to align HR policies with the company’s strategic issues.
- Manage compensation policy and benefits to ensure industry competitiveness.
- Oversee conflict management, employee relations and disciplinary procedures.
- Foster an inclusive work environment by promoting diversity and equity.
Profile sought:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in Human Resources management, including at least 5 years in a management position, ideally in the construction industry or a similar field.
- Excellent knowledge of labor regulations and HR best practices.
- Experience in multi-site management, including office and field teams.
- Proven ability to develop and execute HR strategies in a high-growth environment.
- Assured leadership, excellent communication and interpersonal relationship management skills.
- Ability to solve problems with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in HR systems, payroll and reporting tools.
