This strategic position of Senior Director of the Asset Maintenance Department offers you the opportunity to lead ambitious projects, mobilize committed teams and contribute to the sustainability of a real estate portfolio that is essential to our community.
Under the supervision of the Deputy General Manager, the incumbent’s mission is to lead the development and execution of strategies and orientations related to real estate asset management. He or she plays a key role in the maintenance and sustainability of the real estate portfolio by supervising maintenance work, inspections, and the deployment of the Asset Maintenance and Maintenance Master Plan. Ensures active representation of his or her department with advisory committees and tenant associations.
Main responsibilities of the strategic role:
- Develop, plan and implement strategic priorities in asset management.
- Supervise preventive and curative work, and ensure compliance with deadlines and quality standards.
- Manage the health check of buildings and grounds, identifying issues and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Coordinate interventions necessary for corporate security and the deployment of emergency plans.
- Ensure effective management of managers under your responsibility, while promoting their professional development and that of their teams.
- Ensure the rigorous application of policies, standards and processes in property maintenance.
- Encourage interdepartmental collaboration and participation in cross-functional projects.
- Supervise interventions in plumbing, electricity, carpentry and other specialized trades to ensure compliance with organizational objectives.
- Ensure that teams comply with current regulations (CNESST, RBQ) and participate in occupational health and safety initiatives.
- Lead preventive inspections of housing, buildings and grounds to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
- Supervise the planning and execution of corrective work, in collaboration with internal and external teams.
- Ensure compliance with service contracts and resolve contractual disputes.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with municipal, government, community and private partners.
- Monitor trends and best practices in asset management in order to propose continuous improvements.
- Supervise activities related to the stewardship of offices and administrative equipment.
- Coordinate the monitoring of emergency measures and ensure the security of corporate infrastructure.
Qualifications and skills sought
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in administration, architecture, engineering or any other field related to construction (an asset in project management is desirable).
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years in multidisciplinary team management, ideally in a unionized environment.
- Technical skills: In-depth knowledge of construction standards and knowledge of social housing (an asset). Having managed a unionized team.
- Personal qualities: Mobilizing leadership of multidisciplinary teams, ability to work under pressure, organizational skills and critical judgment.
- Assets: Lean Six Sigma certification (yellow belt) and expertise in complex project management.
